Hey *waves frantically*
This is just a place where I am going to share my love of all things.
(although that usually turns out to be either science related or comics related)
I write fanfiction... I sometimes draw (though I'm not very good). All my fanfics can be found on my Masterlist page, I also tag them all with Supernova Writes
I am also a Christian and I have a blog dedicated to my love of God, which can be found at youareforus.tumblr.com.
Thanks for having a look around my little Tumblr World :D
Please feel free to talk to me XD
Prompts are open if you want XD
No copyright infringements are intended, I do not profit from this blog, and all copyrights are owned by the people who own them... not me :)
I’m still upset that English has no separate word for people from the US…
"The internet has replaced the importance of libraries as a repository for knowledge." Ah, yes, because you can trust everything you read on the internet.
I love books. I love libraries. I get why people are pissed off when people decide to claim that they’re useless and should be closed. However, please stop with this smug superiority about books being more correct than the internet, because in general they aren’t. Furthermore, believing they are is dangerous because then people don’t do anymore research or question what they’ve read like they’re more likely to do on the internet due to the constant chant of “don’t believe everything you see on the internet.” (via terratenshi)
I’ve found that being an undergrad Physicist you have to weigh up how reliable a book/webpage is by looking at it’s source (was it written by a reputable researcher in the field or not); can you crossreference the information, when was it published and (especially for a book) has the material/theory changed since then (there are some great books out there that are now no longer of use because something has been found to be wrong with the underlying information and so has to be revised).
Which is why we are always steered to articles in recent scientific journals.
Friendly reminder to those of you using international keyboards that don’t contain the letter Ñ now that Christmas Holidays are getting closer:
never ever try to wish someone a happy new year in Spanish without being really careful
feliz ano nuevo
means ”happy new anus”
and I’m sure you meant to wish them a happy new año not a happy new anus
I remember this discussion with my Spanish teacher because someone had written it “wrong” on the board…
